Fans of the splendiferous Ginger Minj can now rejoice and pre-order her debut album, Sweet T, on iTunes and Amazon. While the album may officially drop October 21st, Ginger isn’t one to let her fans die of anticipation…at least, not without teasing them first.
When you pre-order Sweet T you’ll get to taste four of the album’s tea-riffic tracks: (Sorry, it had to be pun. Ha!) Bad, Bad Boy, Ooh Lala Lala, Here Comes the Rain Again, and Dream a Little Dream.
I already knew I loved Ooh Lala Lala, from its previous release so that was a no-brainer. But to tackle Eurythmics’ iconic Here Comes the Rain Again? That’s a tough one. Annie Lennox and Eurythmics were a pretty big part of my musical lexicon as a child. No worries. Ginger nails it. Here Comes the Rain Again is soulful, haunting and a worthy homage to one of the greatest bands of the 1980’s.
While we still have to wait to hear Ginger’s guaranteed-to-be-epic duet with the legendary Carnie Wilson, pre-ordering gives you a sip of two new songs. Bad, Bad Boy is the song lip sync to in the shower. Note: if you lip sync to Bad, Bad Boy at work your co-workers will stare at you, especially if you’re wearing headphones. (I admit nothing!) It’ll also make you really want an Almond Joy. P.S. it’s an ear worm in the best possible way.
The second brand spanking new song is Dream a Little Dream. Part autobiographical and part inspirational, Dream a Little Dream speaks of the struggle with being an outsider, with overcoming the opinions of others, being true to yourself, and the value of holding tight to your dreams. This is the song you listen to when you need a reminder you aren’t alone, that there is hope, and that you are unique and beautiful just the way you are. As the song says, “Dream your own way.”
Can we take a moment to talk about the new pictures that go along with Sweet T and Ginger’s upgraded website? Ginger gave us a sneak peek when we saw her at RuPaul BOTS in Chicago. They were killer on her phone, and they’re even better now. Hopefully we’ll get to see a few more because seriously, Ginger was jaw-dropping in all of them. She is truly a chameleon queen. She rocks every look she gives us and leaves us gagging for more. Plus she can walk a flamingo like nobody’s business.
Sweet T is available for pre-order on iTunes and Amazon. Don’t forget to check out Ginger’s website for info on appearances and some sweet merch. You can get all the latest Ginger Minj news by following her on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and of course, Dating a Drag Superstar (because Ginger/Josh and Chris are just way too adorable).
