Can’t Stop the Fillion – Firefly Panel, DragonCon 2010

There’s one panel Mythandros and I never miss at DragonCon, and that’s the Firefly panel. This year marked the lovely Sean Maher’s first DragonCon appearance (and we all know how I feel about him…), and the lovely Jewel Staite, Morena Baccarin and Summer Glau were also a part of it. But a couple folks were very conspicuously missing, though they made sure to make themselves a part of the conversation.

Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk, well-known to DragonCon regulars for their slapstick antics thoughout the Con, decided to crash the panel with a hilarious — if hardly audible — game of phone tag that dominated much of the first portion. Though, to be fair, anything to take away from the endless questions about whether they’re filming Serenity 2 is welcome to me. (News flash: of course there’s always going to be speculation, but seriously, DROP IT. The actors are tired of hearing about it!) This year, though, the questions were a little better and focused more on current projects, which is hopefully the signal of a shifting tide in how we all talk about the show we love so much.

Thankfully, though, even as they become bigger stars, these guys appreciate what started it all for many of them, and we love them for it. On to the panel!

Warning: You will see the finger.
