Resurrection-A new day

Jacob

Jacob Wakes up in China.

I had been asleep when my husband turned on Resurrection, I woke up to a new show that I was totally delighted with.  The personal stories spark your interest immediately and you want to learn more.

At Hospital

Jacobs parents confer with the doctor with Agent Bellamy.

The first episode centers around a boy named Jacob (Landon Gimenez) Who wakes up in a rice paddy in a small Chinese farming village.  He’s confused & obviously dazed.  He is sent home on a repatriation and picked up by an Immigration agent (Omar Epps) at the airport. After questioning him with no answers from the boy he calls the sheriff of Arcadia to inquire on missing children, only to be told there are none.  He decides to ask Jacob to show him where he lives & sets off for Missouri.  When they arrive at Jacobs home, they are greeted by a couple in their 60’s, but when Jacob pops out from the hedges his father (Kurtwood Smith) immediately cognizes him, as well as his mother (Frances Fisher).  But according to his father Jacob died 32 years ago.  And while Jacob looks the same as he did at the age of 8, his parents show their age.

Friends of the family want answers, including Sheriff Fred Langston (Matt Craven), whose wife Barbara drowned 30 years ago while trying to save Jacob, and Fred’s daughter, Maggie (Devin Kelley), a local doctor.  Tom Hale (Mark Hildreth) who was Jacobs friend is now a pastor now seeks a spiritual reason for what’s happening in his community. When things take an even more shocking turn, Maggie’s life-long friend, Elaine Richards (Samaire Armstrong), finds herself drawn into Arcadia’s growing mystery, whose father reappears after being dead.

Agent Bellamy & Maie

Agent Bellamy & Maggie search for answers.

Bellamy, an outsider in the town, joins forces with Maggie to figure out why the unexplainable is happening in Arcadia. As their investigation plays out, Maggie learns some unsettling truths about her own past. Will they be able to solve the mystery of Arcadia before the rest of the world catches on to events there? And will they be able to protect Jacob from forces beyond their control?

Resurrection was developed by Aaron Zelman (Damages, The Killing), who is executive producer. Michele Fazekas & Tara Butters and JoAnn Alfano are executive producers. Dan Attias is director and executive producer. Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner are executive producers for Plan B and Jon Liebman is executive producer for Brillstein Entertainment. The pilot was directed by Charles McDougall. Resurrection is produced by ABC Studios.

Tonight is a new episode on ABC at 9:00pm, tune in after Once Upon A Time, you will be glad you did.
