Dragon*Con 2010 Farscape Panel Random Browder Foolishness

Before the Farscape Panel at Dragon*Con 2010, there was some mishap with sorting out the line.  Here’s some of the early Ben Browder antics as he’s joined by Raelee Hill and Virginia Hey .  The first part was so full of loud chatter you couldn’t hear a thing he said so there’s some music to cover up the loud talking around me.   He  walked out and sat down to wait for the actual audience to arrive.  ”Where’d you guys come from?”  he asked as he sat down on the front of the stage….

Try to enjoy the view…I’m just sayin’

Dragon*Con 2010 Farscape Panel

I had just finished videotaping a  Stargate Panel and hoped to have time to dash to my hotel room, dump the footage, charge the battery and get back in time for the Farscape Panel – even if I ended up in the back of the room.  I wish my favorite panels weren’t back to back!

Running out of one hotel, towards another, I noticed the long Farscape Panel line (okay, so I, like thousands of others, have learned to ask…what line is this?) when I spied two of my ‘Dragon*Con 2009′ friends – die hard, huge, and notable Ben Browder fans… one of which who comes from Australia yearly  I skidded to a stop and chatted for a minute.

They were, of course, horrified I might miss the start, and I, of course, was running out of time.  I decided to turn around and scope out the room for media access.  I pushed through the crowd from the Stargate Charity Auction and found the Farscape Panel room.  With my media badge in hand I grinned at the door person and asked if I could wander in the empty room and check out my options.

Surprised, I was ushered in.   Finding the panel hostess, Diane, we stood at the front and talked for a few minutes.  Then the early opening for our sometimes slower friends, or friends in wheelchairs, etc, began.   I ended up chatting with a newly married couple from the UK, who chose to visit Dragon*Con for their honeymoon.  There were about twenty to thirty people in the room by this time.

Then no one else came in.  I saw that line… it went well past the main building and out in to the street, so I wondered what was going on.   But, then, I turned and found Ben Browder standing in front of the stage.  ”Hey, what’er you guys doin’ here?”  Yep, that’s right, he just walked in and come to the front and started chatting with everyone.

From then it got “Browder Crazy,”  He was all over the place including directing the line traffic that finally arrived after being sorted out from another panel line.

You can see by the video offerings, that Ben is a funny and fun loving guy!  Enjoy!  First, the Panel.  Later the really funny foolishness will be posted.

Dragon*Con! On the road again

AND… off we go.  The SpaceGypsies have loaded their Gypsy wagons with all their goodies and headed out from all sectors of the universe to descend en masse in Atlanta, Georgia for Dragon*Con 2010.

Aside from trying to catch Michael Shanks and Lexi Doig,  we’re off hunting some Ghost Hunters… as in Steve and Tango – those Taps guys.

Next?   Ben Browder is on our list to get a gander at.   And this SpaceGypsy is really really going to search the Dragon*Con world over for Marina Sirtis… oh yeah, we certainly need some Counseling from  Troi!  We have plans to nab and gab this one, she’s one of our favorite TNG stars!

SpaceGypsies will be setting up camp with the RPGs, getting to some panels and filming for our readers!  We’ll be having that up for you soon as humanly and non-hunanly possible.

There are so many people, places and things to do that even with an entire camp of SpaceGypsies we are going to be on the run to get to everyone and everything.

Not only Michael Shanks, Lexa Doig, Ben Browder, Summer Glau!  Virginia Hey!  Jason Momoa,  and all the other StarGaters, StarTrekers, Ghost Hunters, StarWars-ers and partiers, but every thing in between will be right here for you – coming soon… It’s Dragon*Con 2010!

Top 10 Things that MADE Dragon*Con 2009

The SpaceGypsies are anxiously awaiting Dragon*Con 2010. There’s really nothing quite like it! Since two of us were newbies to the Dragon*Con wonder last year, I thought it would be great to give you a Dragon*Con 2009 Top 10!

#10. Since it was my first big Con… I got my first real look at Steampunk costumes… awesome!

#9. The Walk of Fame.  Autographs, chatting (Like walking up and chatting with Virginia Hey (Zhann – Farscape)

#8. The Walk of Fame.   Face to face with favorite characters of favorite shows.  I actually, literally, accidentally bumped into Ron Glass (Shepard Book-Firefly).

#7. Sitting in lines where you can watch the sights abound in front of you and chat with other fans waiting for their favorite panel which happens to be yours also.

#6. By the fifth Jayne Hat I was in awe of the magnitude of fandom!

#5. The Walk of Fame.  That Ben Browder smile?  Oh yeah, it’s real!  And Claudia Black… omg, she is such a sweetheart.  And Jason Momoa…er…my gods he’s…something else.

#4. Seeing certain SpaceGypsies in costume… one as Farscape’s DRD ‘One Eye’ and one as ’1812′.

#3. Standing in the hall and being nudged by another SpaceGypsy who said….”Look!”  It was Patrick Stewart walking less than three feet in front of me!

#2. Interviewing Claudia Black… and having Ben Browder drop by!  Priceless…literally priceless.

#1. Walking outside with Claudia Black and chatting one on one about incense (her favorite is Nagchampa), Montessori School vs Waldorf School education and our basic views of life.
